Really not sure how to feel about this one.
I'll give this one to you both; it's optimized as is. Maybe a better powerup route if possible, but nonetheless: it's not 100% optimized, but it clearly isn't sloppy/suboptimal. (And that's good!)
What I'm not sure about is the hack itself. Yes, considering just about any
Super Mario Bros. hack can be accepted, this one
could have a chance. But I don't know.
The level edits aren't quite enough for this hack to scream "unique" in my opinion. e.g. 1-2 was essentially an underwater version of the original's; 2-1 and 2-3 started off as bland, obstacle-less, flat-ground runs before transitioning back to the original level; and I guess everywhere else, there are a few minor additions or changes here and there, some levels even left mostly or
entirely unedited.
(4-3, 4-4, and W5, W6, and W7 have yet to be seen as they were skipped; I wouldn't imagine they're any better though.)
There
is a bit of a red flag you missed though:
You need a link to the hack that you made this run on. Searches for "Super Cursed Bros" and "super dude" brought up nothing regarding SMB1 hacks ("Super Skater Dudes" doesn't count, it's just a resprite), so this run can't be properly replayed.
I could nitpick about a couple of other problematic things about the submission, but... I think it's better to leave the peace.
I wish I could let you down easy, but I just don't believe this hack has any worth. I'm voting
No, sorry!
