Yes. However, I don't think you'd see many math majors get excited if suddenly every job in that particular area became unavaliable. Sure nothing is permanent and they can go back to school and major in something else, but yeah.

Peh, I've worked in construction, I'm terrible at it. Construction takes more coordination than I have. Construction takes more skill than you give credit for. And it's skill that I don't have and I can't quickly obtain.

The bill doesn't target legal nationalized citizens. Therefore, not everyone is 'targeted' by this bill, only foreign migrants that aren't nationalized or haven't achieved citizenship. As I said before, this isn't the best thing ever, but peopel are definitely blowing it WAY out of proportion.
Reading over the text, (admittedly only in short bits at a time), I haven't seen anything that prevents it from being applied to naturalized, or even American-born citizens.
If you have, I would thank you to direct me to the applicable clause(s).

Edit: The more I read about it, the more this bill scares the living hell out of me. Basically now the president can detain indefinitely anyone residing inside the U.S. (including U.S. citizens) that is declared an enemy (at least according to what I've read). And who has the authority to make the judgment call on who's an enemy and who's not? The president, of course. So you might as well say goodbye to freedom of speech...
Theoretically speaking, it takes habeas corpus and throws it right out the window for everyone. I'm absolutely appalled that such extreme legislation wasn't killed at square one, nevertheless passed.
Seriously, how long before this country becomes a dictatorship? Three, maybe four years? We all know Bush is going to try and weasel in a third term (remember, this was the same guy who did not receive the majority popular vote both in 2000 and in 2004), and who knows, we might soon see legislation banning the limit on the number of terms a president can serve.
Seems like a slippery slope, yes. But part of that slippery slope has already become a reality.

There's not much content other than a few jabs at Bush, a short history of Habeas Corpus, and some quotes from people who didn't vote for this (ill-conceived, idiotic, useless) bill, but I still think it makes quite a few good points.
Hopefully we can undo all the damage Bush caused once he's out.. but realistically it'll only get worse from here. At least I can't imagine this generation's lot getting too incredibly terrible, but I wouldn't want to live here in 50 or 100 years.

I love Keith Olbermann. He seems to be the only news personality who directly challenges the president and those who lie in news *ahem* specifically FOX news *ahem*
I like Keith Olberman too, but, I think his credibility is only slightly higher of his foil Bill O'reilly. I enjoy his show a lot, but I don't trust everything I hear on his show. For real news you can't go wrong with the Daily Show :).
