* Uses FCEU 0.98.16
   * Aims for fastest time
   * Abuses programming errors
   * Takes damage to save time

This is 1099 frames (18.32 seconds) faster than TheAxeMan's NG3 run. How did I save so much time? About half of the time saved was from using Up+A to cancel attack animations. Over a second was saved by pressing forward every other frame to move on the squishy floor in 6-2 instead of just jumping. The rest came from subpixel optimization, using Left/Right+A for faster wall climbing and just generally doing stuff faster.

Great run! I remember in the early days you werent exactly confident improving The Axe Mans run by more than a second. Now, you managed to gain 18 seconds :) Thats astonishing. Will Xipo restore Chinas pride, will he retaliate? To be concluded! (voted yes by the way)

Definite Yes vote! This has dead periods turned entertaining... The 2nd Boss?! The freaking music never stopped till the next level! AWESOME! 4th Boss was absolutely insane! Too bad you can't glitch through the ceiling floors in 5-2 so you can skyrocket up the left side.. All in all, with awesome windmill shuriken goodness, there is no doubt on this one ^^ Mr. Kelly R. Flewin

You should have submitted today... 11:11 movie on 11:11 :P Anyway, the run is absolutely awesome, I love this game (also, you should keep making cool TASes, even if there are no more NES Ninja Gaiden games left).

Whoa, 18seconds improvement is unexpectedly high result for NG. However, I think the run is still improvable. For example, in 4-1 you lose ~7 frames on first moving platform (2nd platform could appear earlier if you wouldn't stop for ninpo change). Do you really need that fire weapon later in the level? Anyway, yes vote for entertaining and fast movie.

I notice you sort of backtrack to get an extra 10 ninja points near the end of stage 3, but don't use them on the boss, reasoning? It also looks like in 7-2C you're waiting for a platform for a while instead of using Invincible Fire Wheel and wall-jumping through spikes. It looks like you could IFW, grab the Red Energy, and wallclimb faster than waiting.

When those platforms appear on screen has no effect on their position. I tested this by setting x58E (Y position) to 40 and xAD (invincibility) to 1 with the cheat function to float through the level. Even if i could save a few frames there and didn't waste any more time before the third moving platform, I'd just be waiting that much longer for it. And yeah, that weapon is needed to get the invincible fire wheel in 4-2.

I'm not really backtracking there so much as trying to make the time wasted by the spacing of those little platforms look as smooth as possible and killing something at the same time. Gotta fall off the last one instead of jump to get the best use out of the forward moving water.

The only part of the wall you can grab in 7-2C is the electricity-free section on the left, and that doesn't really get you anywhere useful.

Like DrJones said, I think this is the best Ninja Gaiden run I've seen, and they've all pretty much been winners. Lots of variety with different power-ups and such.

Did anyone else find the encodings sound to be below normal? I thought it was too low.

Holy crap! Awesome job. You should add "plays with death" to the description. You just about bought the farm many times. Easy Yes vote.
