- .vmv - VirtuaNES format. Only used for #854: choco-mint's NES Dragon Warrior II in 59:15.57. VMV -> FCM converter existed and most people used that instead.
- .gz - original extension for OMR. Used for #2884: Vampier's MSX Metal Gear in 33:05.92. It's still a gzip archive, just renamed.
- .dof - DOSBox format. Used for #1493: Bisqwit's DOS Star Control II in 35:03.50.
- .tasproj - used by TAStudio in BizHawk. Should be exported to bk2 for submissions.
- .lua - programming language used for scripting in many emulators (see LuaScripting).
- .wch - plaintext RAM Watch file.
- .gst - Gens savestate format. Can't find any documentation.
- .avs - AviSynth scripts. Used for editing encodes.
- .srt, .ass, .ytt - subtitle formats to make importing into new uploads easier.
- .cfg - configuration file for some emulator environments. Currently only used here.
- .fs - FBA-rr savestate format. Used for #8061: Dark Noob's Arcade The King of Fighters '96 "playaround" in 22:33.35.
