Couldn't get SRB2 running through the DOOM core on BizHawk, so I did this in DOSBox-X with an early version of SRB2 from about 2002. The following settings changed in the movie file are:
  • Configuration Preset: set to (1999) IBM ThinkPad 240
  • CPU Type: Intel Pentium III
  • Enable Joystick 1 & 2: False
  • Enable Mouse: False
To get the game running, you must put the game files into a CD image using feos' "create_iso.sh" bash script, which is located here.

I thought about doing a TAS of this version of Super Fighter a little bit after eien86 made their TAS of the DOS version, which is here.
To my surprise, this version of Super Fighter was actually made in the MUGEN engine, which is an engine used in many fan-made fighting games. It's also actually called Super Fighter, unlike the DOS version that eien86 TASed (Fatal Encounter), even though that's the only difference with that DOS version. I'm also planning to submit this TAS when I'm finished.
That's basically all I have to say.
TASing framework used: Hourglass r81 on Windows XP SP3 (also done on an actual XP machine (an IBM ThinkPad X40)).
Version of the game used: latest one from the Super Fighter Team website.

I found this glitch a little bit ago when I was trying to find new strats for SBZ1 in Knuckles in Sonic 1. Evidently enough, I did. Here's the new strat for SBZ1.
Shaves off 5 seconds from the current TAS.

How to play the TAS movie

  1. Get a pre-installed version of Street Fighter II' for DOS
  2. The pre-installed version of Street Fighter II' should be in a .zip file, extract it
  3. Use feos' bash script for creating ISOs from here (first, get the xorriso package on Linux)
  4. If you used the bash script correctly, you can open in through BizHawk now.
  5. Make sure your sync settings are as follows:
  • the configuration preset should be (1993) IBM PS/2 53 SLC2 (50 mhz)
  • CPU cycles: -1
  • CPU type: Auto
  • Enable Joystick 1: True
  • Enable Joystick 2: False
  • Enable Mouse: False
  • Force FPS Denominator: 0
  • Force FPS Numerator: 0
  • Mount Formatted HDD: 21MB (FAT16)
  • Mouse Sensitivity: 3
  • PC Speaker: Auto
  • RAM Size (MB): -1
  • Sound Blaster IRQ: -1
  • Sound Blaster Model: Auto
  • Video Card Type: Auto
Then once you've done that, you can play the TAS movie. I might also find improvements to this and change the way it loads (from custom CD to floppy images) so this can be submitted.

I decided to make a TAS of a few Street Fighter II bootlegs, and this one is probably the most special one that I've came across, It's essentially Rainbow Edition + the "M" bootlegs + an accelerator that gets rid of clutter in stages, or in other words, makes the game faster when nothing is happening. It's somewhat like a LUA script but built into the game (sorta).
  • BizHawk 2.10 with the MAME core was used, since FBA-RR is pretty old.
