Cypher (Compute's Gazette)

This game of logic is based on the popular game "Master Mind"...only this version has 6 slots, instead of the common 5 (Advanced Master Mind) and 4 (Regular Master Mind). So this version is the most difficult of the 3.
The article for this game can be found on page 56 of Compute's Gazette Issue 20 (February 1985)

Why TAS This Game?

The continuation of TASing games from my all-time favorite magazine, Compute's Gazette. This makes my 48th TAS from this series.
I never typed this in. I really didn't understand the game, even the game master mind. Some how, it escaped me and I am really sad that I didn't get to experience this in my youth. This game probably got over-shadowed by my eagerness to play The Forbidden Crypt, which was in the same magazine. Oh well.

Game Difficulty and Ending

Because of the nature of this game, there really isn't a difficulty to select. As for an ending, that is clear when you win the game by guessing the code.

Effort In TASing

Just note, I am building a library of Compute's Gazette games.
The effort was quite simple...I determine the code and reproduced it on the first try. Additionally, I buffered the inputs to end the movie file earlier. For determining the code, I could either waste a lot of time trying to dissect the code to see it before the round started, or play it all the way to the end to see what it was. In this run, I played it all the way to the end to see the code....simple and easy.

Human Comparison

I couldn't find one.
