This is an improvement of about 10 seconds over AKA's recently published run of The Karate Kid. I found a way to do the first screen faster within minutes of fooling around, and since the movie was only in the 3-minute range I went all the way to the end with it.
  • Aims for fastest time
  • Manipulates luck
  • Takes (a little) damage to save time
Improvements:
Karate Tournament: 232 frames
Okinawa: 52 frames
Typhoon Strikes: 93 frames
Last Fight Against Chozen: 227 frames
Total improvement: 604 frames
Note: I could have ended the input 24 frames earlier and still beat the game, but that would have made the boss take a very long time to die. The ending looks much smoother and more impressive this way IMO. The movie file is 580 frames shorter (instead of 604) because of this sacrifice at the end.

NesVideoAgent: Hi! I am a robot. I took a few screenshots of this movie and placed them here. Oh! I also replaced the ROM name.
  • You indicated Karate Kid (U).nes
  • I updated it to Karate Kid, The (U).nes

Seriously, what is your blood type?! How the hell did you find a way to beat those guys that fast? This game just got a lot more funnier and faster thanks to you. *Nitsuja for President 2008* (Voted yes).

If someone had asked me in all honesty how much my previous effort could be improved by I would have said about half a second maybe even a second, certainly not 10 seconds, nor anyone else would have said that bar Nitsuja. Karate Tournament: Whoa all those fast hands and feet, its like you're doing dealing a load turbo crane kicks and drum puches throughout the tournament even though its just a basic combination of punches and kicks. Okinawa and Typhoon seemed like you'd improved the manipulation greatly Last Fight Against Chozen: I couldn't tell if much was improved before the boss but it does seem somewhat improved. I don't understand how you managed to beat the boss in that way, is this some kind of glitch? since he usually comes back to life when he falls over the ledge. Although I guess it helps becuause it doesn't require a crane kick which you used in the Karate Tournament. Nitsuja I'm honoured to be obseleted by such a seemingly impossible margin. Clear Yes vote.

This statement should set example for everyone how you should treat someone who improves your run. Spoken like a true gentleman. Kudos AKA.

Not counting the boss, the last level was about 50 frames faster, from small changes.

All enemies die when they touch the water. It doesn't work to hit him into the water because he reaches the side of the screen first, but he fell into it normally without me hitting him.

I agree totally. EDIT: Btw, I have already begun encoding the movie. Since I have all the scripts ready to go from the last one, this should be done quick.

Maybe Nitsuja should try and improve the Kung Fu run.

When the vault was introduced, previously published movies were put into the vault based on an entertainment[i/] rating of less than 5.75. This movie's entertainment rating is 5.6 and thus did not meet the cut off.
