I couldn't watch Blooby's .m64, and do you see me making curt AVI demands? Nope. The demand (and people whining about deysnchs) for OoT is always high, so assume that an AVI will be made regardless.

Well I did make some quick encodes for the child segment are up if you want to see a preview of this amazingness, but there arent any wips of the adult part of the run and once the run is finished im thinking about making a publishable quality avi + youtube segments if bloobiebla wants. In case anyone cant find the child segment encodes... My 95mb low quality avi My 370mb high quality avi

I think he just means that asking doesn't serve any purpose because we encoders are aware of demand. Raiscan said he would do the publishable one, chaosv1 might do another huge one that's super sharp, and I'll do a high res one that might not be so sharp but won't be so huge either. None of us can/will go any faster or slower due to requests :)

From what the child portion looks like, we can be certain it won't be.

Basically I'm heading up the Redundancy Department of Redundancy? My bad... I feel ya. Bloobiebla: are you using an actual joy stick for the analog movements or something else? Always wondered what the preferred method for TASing n64 games was.

I use the TAS input plugin for directions, and i use a classic n64 controller for the buttons, since it can get annoying to click all the buttons on the plugin. The controller also helps test things that need testing. With that said, the controller analogue isn't used for inputs

I'd like to know why Bloobiebla holds onto that cuckoo for so long on his way up to Zora's domain. I didn't think you needed it to get through the waterfall, and it looked like it slowed him down the whole way (except the initial fence skip).

You do need it to get past the waterfall. Either that or play the song, which is slower.

crazy suggestion from a zelda noob: invoke a chicken raid/rain, run normal speed to and get dmg-boosted through the waterfall?

I think it's possible to get past the waterfall without the cucco or the song, but by the time Bloob realised this, he was well into the adult section.

Very nice prewiew of the run. I'm looking forward to it's release. And I wondered: Shouldn't it be no pause delay in this TAS? I thought this problem had been solved in the TASes of Swordless Link and Bloobiebla thank to the new mupen. Or will the pause delay be edited out a the end of the run.

They will be attempted to get hexed out, but there's only a small chance it will work. Also, hexing of certain areas of the child section are hopefully going to be hexed, but there's no guarantee for that to work either :[

Ah, who cares if it doesn't work. I sure as hell won't. It will still be just as entertaining.

The pause delay has been fixed in the new unreleased version of Mupen. Sadly it doesn't have a soft reset, but it will probably be available when its eventually released. From initial experience, hexing out the delay was not successful as it screwed up the ruppee manipulation in the training area, and I can imagine most other areas in the game desyncing as well.

I've noticed two things and am curious. Why isn't the Temple of Time Door Skip being used for TAS videos when as an adult... 1. You can cast the Sun's song in the Temple of Time and escape to the beginning of the Temple of Time - circumventing the wall 2. You could teleport to Desert Colossus, die, save, and reload at the Temple of Time - circumventing the wall I've read the past several pages but didn't see an answer to this.

If you're referring to the current run up, it's horribly outdated. For future runs, a superslide OoB takes 1 heart off Link's health, for a quick death with proper health management, and the DoT skip will be used. Of course, a version of Mupen with recorded resets would allow a simple savewarp. For Bloobieblah's run, he may consider the skip a major skip. Though I'm not entirely sure whether he uses it or not.

August has passed, and September is here. Is this on indefinite hold until Mupen Plus, or is progress still being made?

We've mostly had to redo everything because shorter pauses have caused desyncs. It's caused massive headaces in terms of redoing the ruppee collecting and the peehat is refusing to cooperate, but it has been some what a blessing in disguise because there were some minor time savers we were able to implement. Not having the soft reset will definitley put completion on hold for the time being.
