FCEUX 2.1.2 released. This release has a number of new features relevant to TASVideos including movie support for FDS disk switching. In addition, the Win32 port has several new dialog tools such Ram Search, Ram Watch, and a Lua console window ported from the GENS emulator. Much thanks to gocha, the newest FCEUX developer for the porting of these tools. Discussion of this release Full changelog & downloads

A highly anticipated features for the TASVideos site has now been implemented - embedded streaming video. All movies which have a YouTube or DailyMotion link will now show a button underneath the movie's image to watch the video directly, provided you have both Flash installed and JavaScript enabled. If the buttons do not appear for you, refresh the page and/or clear your browser's cache. Hopefully in the coming weeks we will expand this to support Viddler and other sites. If user's want, I'll also implement a feature which will allow TASVideos to remember which streaming media site you prefer. For examples, have a look here or here.

TASVideos now supports embedded streaming video from Viddler. This means that now almost all videos found on our site can be played directly from the movie page. If buttons to play the movie don't appear for you, and you have Flash installed and JavaScript enabled, refresh the page and/or clear your browser's cache. Edit: I know it no longer allows you to upload new video to it, but I noticed we had a little over 50 videos on Google Video, so I added support for embedding Google Video too. Enjoy!

I now setup the site to support streaming videos from Archive.org, where we have many videos hosted. There may still be a bug or two to work out, but this should work fine for most videos. Also as of this message, now every single movie on this site which has not been obsoleted can be streamed directly from the movie page. If buttons to play the movie don't appear for you, and you have Flash installed and JavaScript enabled, refresh the page and/or clear your browser's cache.

The site now keeps track of and automatically generates award images on movie pages, forum posts, Homepages, and forum profiles. We hope to soon work it into the front page as well in the same way star movies are (a module with a way to list movies by award). Also starting with the 2009 Awards, Awards come with cash prizes! Every year TASVideos will donate 15% of all donations to the prize pool for Awards.

I made some tweaks to the site over the past few days. They range from improving results in search engines, to improved loading speed, to how embedded streaming works. Some changes you may notice, others are more subtle. You may want to (force) clear your browser's cache in order to allow some of the changes to take effect. For those of you enjoying Archive.org embedded streaming, you may enjoy how the new loading image works. Also, we now support commentaries in movies being played from Archive.org, see this movie as an example. If this last feature interests you, perhaps consider making some commentary for the next run you submit!

I've been making some tweaks and improvements to the streaming movie features that many people here have come to love. On the movie pages, where you have an option to play a movie from Archive.org, DailyMotion, Google Video, Viddler, or YouTube, I now made it that once you click the button to play via a specific site, you no longer have to click on the video again to have it start, it will do so automatically. Other improvements coming soon. Like always, you may need to clear your browser's cache for this to take effect.

As promised for 2010, we have been working on expanding the Game Resources section of the site. We have new pages, such as TMNT, as well as big improvements to pages such as SMB2 USA and SM64. Game resources now also a main menu item on the site. We also have some new streaming options specifically designed for these pages. It is now possible to loop a segment of video by using the start & loop parameters. Width, Heigt, and Hide Link options are also available in order to improve the layout of pages with several embedded movies. We have several new editors working on several new pages. I am very pleased to enthusiasm for this project.

I updated, fixed, and upgraded our RSS feed. This should provide greater compatibility with more news readers. I also added support to our feed for Broadcatching. This allows BitTorrent clients that support RSS feeds to retrieving newly published torrents automatically. This is supported by μTorrent, qBittorrent, Deluge, and many other clients.

We now have Virtual Boy rerecording via VBjin! It is approved for site submission. This was done via porting the VB core from mednafen into the PCEjin emulator. Thanks big time to paul_t who did the dirty work for this.
