I got a warning for pointing out that a forum post contradicted itself. Now I understand why OtakuTAS called you guys a hostile & cold community. I'm done here. Do whatever you want.

You literally said as much in the above quote. You can't say that ppl are required to meet behavioral expectations and that there are no requirements whatsoever (in the exact same post, no less) and expect ppl not to be misled.

Your post history, which seems to be made up almost entirely of the same impatient demands, criticisms, and backseating that you showed in our PMs
When I ask something, I expect a response. And yet, hardly anyone responds to any of my questions. No shit I'd get impatient. And honestly, the fact you believe I wouldn't get impatient due to not having my questions answered in a timely manner is kinda concerning.

Now that that's been dealt with, I've a question about an experience I had. Earlier this year, I PM'd Memory asking for the Editor role, per this quote:
Samsara wrote:
There are no requirements to become an Editor, simply ask and you'll get the role.
What I expected to be a simple Yes reply ended up devolving into a back-and-forth that resulted in Memory rejecting my application. The conversation made me convinced I must have done something wrong, but to this day I don't know what that something wrong was. (And for the record, I do not want the Editor role at this point in time.)

I am not sure the original is even glitchless exactly? I would feel more comfortable asking the author.
I did so, and he basically told me that no, it's not glitchless. He only used one glitch in order to get more money. So much for it working as a separate glitchless branch.

I feel like [3530] DS Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time by Migu in 3:21:09.92 could work as a separate "glitchless" branch, instead of having [3791] DS Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time by Migu in 1:52:56.29 obsolete it.

It appears that Sergio was banned not long after they submitted that run. Runs by banned users are not acceptable.

I think it's high time I revive this debate, specifically in regards to how to go about unpublishing movies, requesting movies for unpublication, and which movies should be unpublished. Ikuyo made a post earlier this year about a Retraction process, but from what I can tell, it has yet to go anywhere.

I'd love to see an "all dungeons" run of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest. Given that the only difference between the two versions is the dungeons, an any% run of Master Quest would be pointless imo.

I feel like this run could possibly be acceptable now due to rule changes.

Science publication processes have retractions: flagging of any submitted work as flawed to such an extent that it cannot be trusted. We intend to adopt a similar process. A Publication can be retracted if it is found to violate Site Rules, Terms of Service or contains some otherwise major issue that means it should have not passed the submission process to begin with. A retracted movie will have its publication pulled, and its Submission retroactively rejected, with an explanation on why the movie was pulled. Please note that movies can only be Retracted if the issue with them cannot be handled with the currently in place obsoletion chains: any movie that is obsoleted is still valuable to the site. We're working on the details of this policy, but for now, we encourage everyone to speak up, via the submission threads or contacting Staff, when you think a movie that has been published should not be. Expect a formal change to Site rules in the coming weeks.
It's been 6 months, and the retraction feature still hasn't been implemented. Is it still being worked on?

Is this thread still needed? I do recall seeing a few "Photobucket please replace" placeholders still lying about on the forums.

Reiterating this, especially given that more 3DS runs have been published since I made this post.

So aiqiyou asked to replace the submission with a userfile, which is of a significantly faster run that's sub-9. Why did they upload it as a userfile, instead of making an entirely new submission?

Ah, I forgot about that. I agree that a new thread should be made for Playground runs, but I'll leave that up to you and the rest of the staff.

While I have this on my mind, are there are any rejected ones from these that I should bump up in priority?
I would recommend looking over some of the runs in the fourth link, particularly the ones rejected due to "old hack rules." I feel some of these hacks might be good enough to be accepted now. However, what I truly want to focus on now are the runs currently in Playground, as I feel there are several there that could probably be accepted now. #2908: HappyLee's NES Super Mario Bros. "lowest score" in 14:32.80, #5110: nymx & EternisedDragon's SNES Super Metroid "100% Map Completion" in 1:12:25.01, #7244: WolfAeterni's FDS Super Mario Bros. 2 "warpless, minimum coins" in 22:20.78, and #7349: Fortranm's DS Chrono Trigger "all bosses, glitchless" in 6:23:13.961 are the ones that come first to my mind. Here is a list of all runs submitted pre-2025 that are currently in Playground. I did not include runs submitted this year, as I'm certain they've been extensively evaluated already.

I request that searching by emulators be added to Wiki: Subs-List. That way, I can search for submissions that use a specific emulator without having to guess the emulator that was used.

and why don't other lists work for it?
It's not that they don't work for my navigation workflow, it's more that I'm too used to Wiki: MoviesList to change to Wiki: Games/List and the like. That, and I've never used any of those other pages.

Me. I won't object to its removal (whether by feos' proposal or some other method) but I'd be sad to see it go.

Few, if any, of the submissions mentioned here have been re-evaluated, especially those on DrD2k9's page. I don't know if it's cuz of lack of manpower or something else, but either way, it's really frustrating for me.

JD, I wonder if something got corrupted on your PC. You could try running sfc /scannow in cmd or PowerShell, and maybe checking your disk's health with a free tool like CrystalDiskInfo, then playing back the TAS again.
Went and ran both. Nothing was corrupted.

Has there been any progress on trying to get the glitch to work properly? The author has not logged in since 2022, and has not made a forum post since making the one above.

Yesterday I converted the run to FM2 and tried getting it to sync in FCEUX...but the emulator crashed partway through, and I couldn't get the rom to boot again after that.
