Hi, I'm arkiandruski, a TASer that joined the site in 2006. I've mostly worked on Genesis games, but am not limiting myself to the console.
I've see the site go through a lot of changes through the years, and seen the philosophy change a few times. I'm very much in support of the effort to make the site more inclusive in terms of games allowed.

Aero the Acrobat 2 is the sequel to Aero the Acrobat. This game abandons the quest-based gameplay of the first game and instead goes for straight platformer levels. They also added a few new moves to Aero's arsenal.
According to the story, after Aero defeated Ektor the evil industrialist clown in the previous game, he decides to wander around Ektor's evil museum. Meanwhile Zero the Kamikaze squirrel rescues Ektor using his flying machine. While wandering the museum, Aero happens across a strange portal, which pulls him toward a far away past. Turns out the portal was a trap set by Ektor.

Batman is a game that closely follows the plot of the Tim Burton movie of the same name. In it, you follow Batman from the beginning of the movie through the birth and the death of the Joker.
Of course the movie doesn't involve Batman going through walls or dying to achieve his objective quicker.
arkiandruski improves his previous movie by 24.32 seconds, thanks to better optimisation. Please read the author's comments for more details. Also, the movie file features commentary in the form of soft subtitles.

Bonanza Bros. (1991) is a shooter-platform game that was first released in the arcades and then ported to the Sega Genesis, and can be played in a cooperative 2 player mode.
The plot involves the Bonanza Brothers: Robo and Mobo, who resemble the Blues Brothers, but are thieves who steal many treasures from banks, mansions and casinos.
This is an improvement of 00:29.10 seconds when comparing to level improvements as well as some better optimization and abandoning your brother to the police.

The author's created witty commentary provided in the movie file in place of the brothers talking over one another in who's the perfectionist.

Jewel Master chronicles the untold story of, well, the Jewel Master and his battle against evil. He has at his disposal magical rings that can be worn in different combinations and grant him extra powers.
arkiandruski and ajfirecracker improve the previous TAS by 00:05.04 seconds.

The encodes provide commentary by the author as soft subtitles.

Conquest of the Crystal Palace is the story of a boy and his dog who overthrow an evil rock (or is it a brain?). It offers some cool mechanics like being able to use the dog as a platform and have it attack enemies for you.
In this run arkiandruski improves the predecessor movie by 00:24.86 seconds. A large part of the improvement comes from a faster 2nd stage boss fight, but there are minor movement optimizations throughout.

The movie file, as well as all the encodes, have the author's commentary in the form of soft subtitles.

Watch this run being played back on a real console.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park is an action platformer for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn that is based off the movie of the same name. It ignores the plot of the movie in favor of following five characters and their journeys across Isla Sorna, one of InGen's private islands for creating artificial dinosaurs. Three of the characters are dinosaurs of different species and two of them are humans, an unnamed human hunter and scientist Sarah Harding. Each character has their own set of levels and objectives and own ways of surviving in them. For example, the dinosaurs can kill humans and other dinosaurs to increase their stats and the humans can collect health items and weapons.
arkiandruski here plays through the game as fast as possible, utilizing various techniques and glitches such as one where rapid firing a gun as a human can let you fly through the air. For more information on the run, you can read the author's notes.

The YouTube encode, downloadable encode, and movie file include commentary from the author in the form of subtitles.

Gunstar Heroes (1993) is widely considered to be one of the best action games on the Sega Genesis, but, ironically, was commercially unsuccessful due to poor promotion. It features a variety of melee attacks, as well as 4 basic weapons which can be combined in pairs (making a total of 14 combinations) — all densely packed in a swift and explosion-heavy gameplay spanning over seven uniquely designed stages. The author takes special care to showcase all the moves the game is capable of, using every possible attack and having lots of fun playing around in autoscrolling sections.
This movie is 3 minutes longer than the previous one due to playing on hardest difficulty and using both Gunstars at the same time. See the author's comments for more details.
The encodes for this movie are also slightly larger than usual — this is due to an amount of colors and on-screen motion even the best codecs have problems coping with.

arkiandruski has provided an audio commentary for this movie, available here. He watches his run's encode and speaks along, play back your own copy as you listen to him.

Obviously, in this movie the author opts to use mostly the speed ring...

This improved TAS by Alyosha and the previous run's author reduces a lot of lag and features a faster Stage 2 boss fight.

Judgements I made

Vision for an updated site

Just to have documentation for it. I would like TASvideos site to be easy to use both for people making TASes as well as viewers, and I believe the best way to do that is to make game specific pages more prominent.
We have a database for game pages already. It's auto generated and woefully underused. It's also incredibly difficult to find unless you know it's there. First priority would be to make links to these pages more prominent. Second would be to repurpose those pages so that all information anyone might need can be found there.
I would like game pages to include:
Basically just making sure all information you might ever need on a game is consolidated in one place rather than forcing users to go to different areas of the site to try to piece things together.
