Pokémon: Platinum Version is a monster-catching role-playing game and part of the "fourth generation" of the Pokémon franchise, alongside Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Version. It was the first Pokémon game for the Nintendo DS, features 107 all-new Pokémons and introduced a few new gameplay mechanics, the biggest being the split for Physical and Special attacks and the stats they use. The story follows the same formula as in the previous games: the protagonist and their friend meet up with the local professor and are tasked to catch them all, all the while a terrorist organization plans to literally change the universe.
