Sounds good to me. Might want to have a few test participants try it though before implementing, if possible.

Hi, I know I'm as new as it gets here, but I've been in speedrunning for a long time and have worked in accessibility for games. I'd just like to add my support for this idea, as colorblindness is common. https://imgur.com/a/CeOQ7
Nice to see you halfcoordinated! Thank you for your feedback. In fact, colorblindness is exactly the reason why the captcha provides labels showing exactly what kind of colors to look for when it says “red”, “green”, or “blue”. I admit that they could be made still more distinct from each others, and it is an oversight from my part that the labels don’t match the fonts used for each of those colors in the box (yes, each color has a different font in case you can’t see color at all), but providing a baseline to compare against is what I had in mind when designing that captcha. Completely blind people were not accounted for, though. (But since the nature of the primary content of this site is almost completely visual, it should not matter, despite the April Fools joke I made about it years back.)

I wrote this twice on IRC and didn't bother writing about it in the forums. A suggestion I have is to keep both Red and Blue as they're different enough through each colorblindness and replace Green with White. Since Green and Red blend with each other it was pretty much down to Tritanopia and seeing what that affects which is making Green, Aqua. So in a sense. Just replacing Green with a colorblind friendly color like White would be a bit more suitable on the eyes. This suggestion also works better compared to any other as it's just modifying the script to change Green to White instead of creating/grabbing something else and fixing that up.

How about using shades of gray instead of colors? If the shades are distinct enough, it shouldn't cause a problem for anybody who is capable of reading text. (Some people have harder time distinguishing between subtle differences in contrast, and in fact it's common for this ability to become slightly worse with age, but we are talking about very subtle differences, not like differences between 100% black and 50% gray.)

Badly tuned monitors where light shades of gray are indistinguishable from white or dark shades of gray are indistinguishable from black are very common.

I doubt any monitor fails to distinguish between 33%, 66% and 100% grays...

Try redshift sometime. What was once one color often isn't the same. I'm not saying we *have* to get rid of what Bisqwit made and perhaps it can be adapted to resolve the concerns that halfcoordinated identified but I definitely want to make sure there aren't barriers standing in the way of legitimate newcomers.

#1 http://tasvideos.org/Movies.html --> - Under Special categories there are some pages that doesn't really counts as a category, instead they are listing movies with different properties. I think some of these should be moved there (edit) to Lists: * Movie statistics doesn't features any categories * Movie tokens helps you in creating lists of movies You get the idea for the others... #2 http://tasvideos.org/ArticleIndex.html --> - Under Other there are some pages that mostly based on the Site and consists of Users, so it feels off to categorize under Other. * Awards (displayed on site, voted and given to users) * Events (site events where users participate) * Glossary maybe OK * Links maybe OK * Site History (definitely not other) * Site Technology maybe OK * Site License maybe OK * System Pages maybe OK * TAS Snapshot maybe OK * TAS Video Agent maybe OK

After looking at the pages I don't have any opinion on this. Such a huge pile of links will always be messy.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

http://tasvideos.org/MovieRules.html#AcceptableMovieFiles This section of the movie rules seems to be missing information about which platforms are acceptable with bizhawk. It doesn’t say it for GBA or for SegaCD.

If an snes movie made on bizhawk syncs when converting to lsnes (with no changes done to inputs), we could link both the bk2 file and the lsmv file in publications. That way those who are looking to verify snes movies can use the lsnes file to test with. Example: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=483045#483045

Having a section on the site for verification movies/files would be pretty neat. Add it to game resources, similar to address sets.

Can you remove this annoying topics with "Moved" stamp? They just redirect to actual topics. https://i.imgur.com/UZhxPKz.png And maybe these too? (Closed) https://i.imgur.com/xxT6dkx.png

Address sets should probably have a way to handle multiple revisions of one game. The no-effort solution would of course be to mark a game's name with the version if requried, but I don't like it.

I would like it if the BBCode [‍wiki] markup permitted linking to specific anchors in wiki pages. For example, when I enter
[wiki]GameResources/DOS/CaptainComic#HoverGlitch[/wiki]
I want it to link to http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/DOS/CaptainComic.html#HoverGlitch. Instead, it links to http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/DOS/CaptainComic#HoverGlitch.html. Example: Wiki: GameResources/DOS/CaptainComic#HoverGlitch

http://tasvideos.org/f/subSilver.css sets the CSS font families Courier, 'Courier New', sans-serif for code blocks on the forum. For people without Courier or Courier New installed, code blocks render as sans-serif, which looks bad because characters do not line up. I suggest changing the generic fallback sans-serif to monospace.
/* Quote & Code blocks */
.code {
	font-family: Courier, 'Courier New', sans-serif; font-size: 11px; color: #006600;
	background-color: #FAFAFA; border: #D1D7DC; border-style: solid;
	border-left-width: 1px; border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px
}

Low-priority request: In the forums, below the poster's avatar, is posted the date and time the user joined the site. Would you please remove the time (i.e. only show the date)? I don't think the time provides any value and it carries over to the next line, making it a little confusing to look at.

I'm just noticing that there are eleven tags for genre (action, adventure, fighting, platform, puzzle, racing, rpg, shooter, sport, storybook, strategy) and yet there's a manually kept page for Metroidvanias. Perhaps there should be a genre tag for it? "Genre: Metroidvania" or some similar term. I mean it's not a big deal or anything but it should be very easy to implement. For that matter, it may be interesting to have a genre tag for "beat-em-up" (as in Streets of Rage, because that's pretty distinct from e.g. Street Fighter 2); as well as for "first-person shooter" (as in DOOM, because that's pretty distinct from e.g. Gradius).
