As of today, I've done some restructuring to our moderation staff, effective across both the forum and direct chat outlets (IRC/Discord). The core moderation staff now consists of me, Memory, moozooh and dwangoAC. If you have any sort of moderation issue to report (concerning the site, the forum, or any of the direct chat outlets), contact any one of us who is online/available as appropriate, or ping @Moderator in Discord (preferably the latter).

Following the conclusion of a full decade (2010-2019) and of last year's award ceremony, TASVideos has opened up a unique award nomination procedure to determine the top 3 TASes and top 3 TASers of the previous decade. TAS of the Year and TASer of the Year award winners are included by default, but others are open to nominations as well over the course of the next two weeks - you can find the information and nomination topics for TAS of the Decade here and TASer of the Decade here.

TASer of the Decade 201X (2010-2019) Post originally written by Nach, edited by Mothrayas 2010 to 2019 is the first full decade we've ever had on TASVideos. For you dear viewer, this is a rare opportunity to vote on the best TASer of an entire decade. Join us for this historic award! How nominations work: All players that previously won a TASer of the year award during 201X (2010-2019) is automatically nominated. However, when considering the work players put in year after year, some players may look considerably better over the span of an entire decade. Therefore, we will also allow nominations of other players who have published movies from this time frame. Any player which has not won any awards will require at least 3 nominations to be included in the award poll. Any player which has won a single award of any kind during this time frame (be it for themselves or a specific TAS) will require at least 2 nominations to be included. Any player with two or more awards will only require at least a single nomination to be included. Nominations must be in the usual manner, specifying the player by using their forum name, and not some lesser known IRC handle or other nickname. Failure to do so, and your nomination will be ignored. We are enforcing a 5 nomination limit per user. If you nominate more, only the first 5 you specify will be counted. How voting will work: From the final results, the top three by vote count will each get a TASer of the decade award of Gold, Silver or Bronze. If any position is contested, we will have a run off poll, so there will only be a single winner for each of these prestigious awards. If Gold happens to be tied, then of the run off poll, the winner will be Gold, and the runner up will be Silver, and so on. Due to the importance of this award, we will be accepting nominations for 14 days until 2020-02-14 23:59:59. Voting will be from 2020-02-15 00:00:00 to 2020-02-28 23:59:59. Any potential run-off polls will occur in March. A list of all 640 TASers eligible for nomination is available here.

For you dear viewer, this is a rare opportunity to vote on the best TASes of an entire decade. Join us for this historic award! How nominations work: All movies that previously won a TAS of the year award during 201X (2010-2019) are automatically nominated. However, these movies may not have held up as well as when initially awarded, and the novelty has worn off. Perhaps in retrospect, some other movies look better than they once did. Therefore, we will also allow nominations of other movies from this time frame. Any Moons or Stars movie published during 201X (2010-2019) which has not won any awards will require at least 3 nominations to be included in the award poll. Any movie which has won a single award will require at least 2 nominations to be included. Any movie with two or more awards will only require at least a single nomination to be included. Nominations must be in the usual manner, specifying the TAS using the movie ID enclosed within [movie][/movie]. For example, if you wanted to nominate movie with ID 1234, you'd use: [movie]1234[/movie] which will turn into a link like so: [1234] GBA Metroid Fusion (USA) "100%" in 1:35:49.53 by BioSpark. If you do not nominate properly, your nomination will be ignored. We are enforcing a 5 nomination limit per user. If you nominate more, only the first 5 you specify will be counted. How voting will work: From the final results, the top three by vote count will each get a TAS of the decade award of Gold, Silver or Bronze. The site's system implicitly assumes that if two people worked on one TAS, they receive equal points for it. Perhaps in the same sense, if multiple people have done identical work in terms of movies, then we could automatically consider them together as one voting option for awards (or separate them on request). Either way, I'll see about getting this addressed in the nomination rules for future awards.

I tested Falcon's knee hitstun on a target few days ago, see previous posts. I tested again with Falcon kneeing a Samus on PAL60 and NTSC and it is 8 frames hitlag for both versions. However, I was not able to save any time over SW-1988's 9.93 TAS.
I am aware that strong knee hitlag is the same, my point was about the claim that NTSC strong knee has more damage/knockback. Which according to some quick testing on my end is incorrect (strong knee damage/knockback is identical between NTSC/PAL), and if it were, I'm pretty sure it's something that would have been figured out in the process of PAL -> NTSC patches being made by UnclePunch and others, which is where the other formerly undocumented changes came from. And yes, I'm well aware of the ssbwiki page about version differences - these differences have been a very hot topic in my community and me and other people have done very extensive research on it, which is why I'm sceptical of these new claims of undiscovered/undocumented changes.

* It seems Fox can run very slightly faster on NTSC (maybe because of his weight difference or an overlooked dash speed difference). Event 6 TAS uses PAL Fox. Maybe you can save time if you use NTSC Fox. * Falcon seems to have 8 hitstun frames for both NTSC strong knee and PAL strong knee, however NTSC has slightly higher damage/knockback. Event 8 uses PAL Falcon. Maybe you can save time if you use NTSC Falcon.
Any sources for these claims? As someone who's been involved in my local competitive Melee scene which has switched from PAL to NTSC within the past year, I'd be very interested in undocumented/unknown differences between NTSC and PAL outside of what already was known and what was discovered through datamining at the time (which included various changes to e.g. Kirby's hitboxes that weren't known at all until last year)

is there a way to modfy the dolphin tastools so the output of the inputs you are telling the emulater to run go to a arduino
Input recorded by TAS tools is generally saved to a movie file, which in Dolphin's case is a .dtm file. You can read up on the file format for it here. Just feed such a file into your Arduino, so that it can read it and process it whichever way you program it to.

BizHawk 2.4 has been released. This is a hotfix release, while also being a major version update - it is officially releasing the Vectrex core, and fixing some major Lua and TAStudio bugs that were introduced in the previous release. It is highly recommended to abandon 2.3.3 and upgrade to 2.4 instead.

is xtreme mode another final boss? i didnt remember sigma was the final boss, maybe i got confused with xtreme2 with the knight and queen bosses?
Nope, you fight Sigma as the final boss in all three modes (Normal, Hard, Extreme) of Mega Man Xtreme. You might indeed be mixing it up with Xtreme 2, where Berkana is the final boss of X mode, Gareth is the final boss of Zero mode, and Sigma is the final boss of Extreme mode.

Fair use is not relevant to the point at hand here. Neither is the license attached to this submission that allows the site to upload the work to YouTube. Plainly, this is not gia's movie, and has been proven not to be, and therefore he should have no right at all to claim copyright of any form on this movie. The only thing this movie does is copy the strategy of gia's previous movie, but gameplay strategies are not copyrighted. This is plain and simple abuse of YouTube's copyright system, which fails to discern the difference between gia's movie created by gia's input and p4wn3r's movie created by p4wn3r's input.
