Hetfield90 and Flameberger made a quality piece of work in MMZ2. Then, of course, there's also klmz, who has multiple high-quality GBA Castlevania runs to his name. These three get my nominations.

Sniq definitely takes it for me, having taken apart Super Metroid extensively over the year.

I am not accepting debate here on whether one movie is more worthy of a nomination than another movie. Both movies have been nominated already, you can vote for the movie you prefer when the voting phase starts. This is not the place for another argument between these movies. Further posts of that nature will be moved out or deleted.

I think there was a rule last year where multi-game TASes are not elegible for the award.
That was for the First Edition award, where the base game(s) already had TASes of their own. There is no reason to disqualify a multi-game TAS from NES TAS or other TAS categories they qualify for. In fact, a few of them have won awards in the past.

Please nominate eligible TASes. Special note: Due to issues with nominations for previous iterations of this award, nominations must include an explanation in order to be counted. It does not need to be long, but it needs to make clear how the nominated movie ties in with the award description (see above). Nominations with no explanation or with no appropriate justification will not be counted. Nominations are open until 2019-01-07 23:59 UTC. Voting is open until 2019-01-14 23:59 UTC. Vote for the TASes with the fastest running or fastest zipping characters that you have ever witnessed. Note that "speedy" here refers to a character's movement speed, not just to a game being beaten in a short amount of time or skipping game content. Speedy TAS of 2018 candidates: [3701] Coleco Dragonfire by Noxxa in 01:40.60 [3719] SegaCD Sonic the Hedgehog Megamix by Evil_3D, kaan55, nitsuja & WST in 13:52.91 [3758] GG Sonic Labyrinth "best ending" by Zurggriff in 15:15.91 [3760] SNES Kirby's Dream Land 3 "best ending" by WaddleDX in 1:04:01.22 [3793] DOS King's Quest: Quest for the Crown by DrD2k9 in 00:18.30 [3799] N64 Doom 64 by Headshot in 23:54.90 [3809] Linux Mari0 "Portal mappack" by lexikiq, Masterjun in 03:05.23 [3827] Linux SteamWorld Dig 2 by keylie in 18:11.87 [3833] Linux TowerFall Ascension "all trials, 1000 fps" by keylie in 03:26.75 [3840] Genesis Ecco: The Tides of Time by upthorn in 36:30.34 [3841] Linux Order of Twilight by lexikiq in 00:47.23 [3855] GBA Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow "Julius mode" by klmz in 03:48.14 UPDATE - 2019-01-09 17:00 UTC: One nominated entry was initially not included into the final list, due to an error in judgment. This has now been corrected - as a consequence, the poll is reset. The winner: [3809] Linux Mari0 "Portal mappack" by lexikiq, Masterjun in 03:05.23
