Wiki Restructure Project
Wikified thoughts, plans, and discussions for the ongoing wiki maintenance and restructuring project. This lists every top-level wiki page and what I think should be done with them. None of this is completely set in stone as of yet: Things that are will be moved to HomePages/Samsara/Proposals and more actively worked on.
Discussion below is a mixture of wiki edits and transcriptions from Discord chats. Editors, feel free to directly add your thoughts below. If you're not an Editor and would like to chime in, contact me to become one or post in the linked thread.

- Randomno: Almost all emulators are a subpage of EmulatorResources. Personally I would prefer all emulators as top-level pages for ease of linking and browsing. But otherwise this "should" be a subpage.
- Samsara: I was thinking it should be kept as top-level because BizHawk is the site's flagship "product", as it were. Having other emulators subpaged under EmulatorResources makes it more clear that we're not as directly affiliated with them as we are with BizHawk. If it absolutely has to be universal, I'd sooner change everything to top-level than worry about the cavalcade of broken offsite referrals that are going to pop up by subpaging BizHawk.
- YoshiRulz: After moving most subpages' content to the GitHub repo, there won't be much left. But what is left are pages linked from important places, so while I disagree with the "flagship product" argument, I agree the page shouldn't be moved under EmulatorResources (without leaving a redirect behind).

- Samsara: This is a big thing in the TAS world, so we should probably have an official top-level page for it.
- YoshiRulz: I'm told the plan for tas.bot is to highlight recent and upcoming events, and to document historical information on its wiki—technical information currently living there will be moved here, including the runs.tas.bot DB once the site is ready.

- Samsara: Keep the page for sure. Should also promote new page translations.
- YoshiRulz: Maybe come up with an order or hierarchy of which pages to translate? Wikipedia's "Vital articles" comes to mind.
- Samsara: This works. I feel like at some point, every single page that has a translation will be completely rewritten in English, so it's probably worth making that hierarchy and keeping it completely intact.

- YoshiRulz: Don't these all have hierarchies similar to the old/current base localisation, and so will need reorganising too? Also, see my comment under Translations above.

- feos: or maybe move those to Publishing subpages? publishing is the main goal of encoding so feels sane
- Randomno: Moving to Publishing subpage would be confusing for the aspects that aren't about publication, like Casual Encoding guide.
- Samsara: Yeah, far more people make temp encodes than publications. I'm more for keeping this as a main page just so people know they can use it for temps/casual encodes.

- YoshiRulz: See my comment under TASBot above, but I'm not sure how much of this dwango wants to keep on here. With the talk of publishing the showcase runs I'd assume he'd prefer to fit them into the existing system, maybe a "showcased by TASBot" tag?
- Samsara: I can talk to him about that, but I think going forward there's generally going to be less separation between TASVideos and TASBot, so I think it's likely that stuff like this is going to stay here.

- YoshiRulz: A lot of the page titles are ambiguous without context :P You could use another name like CodeOfConduct for contributor guidelines.
- Samsara: CodeOfConduct implies behavior guidelines more than the kind of contributor guidelines I was thinking about, but as long as things are in places that people can reasonably expect them to be in, I'm happy.

- Samsara: That's not to say I don't think it should be kept. I'm wondering if maybe we could subpage it under SiteHistory, given the ways that SM64 TASing has influenced arguably the most popular speedgame of all time (iirc, 1 Star, 0 Star, and 1 key were all TAS innovations). Maybe it isn't directly related to TASVideos itself, though, and I wouldn't want to rip the credit away by saying the SM64 scene is part of OUR history.

- Samsara: Actually... This would be perfect as a SiteHistory subpage! Given that Morimoto's run is the reason why the site exists, the category is quite literally part of the site's history.

- Darkman425: This feels like something meant for a summary of the annual awards. Maybe it was meant for posting in the news section or having a summary thread of the results but I can't say for certain. Either way I don't see anything like that in the forums as far as I can tell.
- Samsara: arkiandruski mentioned it was an old unfinished project. Could always just move it to his HomePage.

- Samsara: Exact same situation as Applications, unsure of the entire page in general
- YoshiRulz: The site doesn't need to recommend video players when browsers have handled that for years. Emulators have their own pages. Editors recommendations could be a couple links to alternativeto.net on whatever the "intro to TASing" page ends up being. This can go IMO.
- Samsara: Honestly, I agree. Who knew there'd be so much outdated information on a site that's been around for 20 years without a major cleanup project?
