I don't really remember what was the first TAS I saw but what should matter is how I even got here. I was looking for some help with DeSmuME, so I googled my issue... that somehow TASVideos.org was a result, and the rest is history lol.

Pokémon: Platinum Edition
My first ever published TAS. I was so dumb back then. It is funny when I found the running button and then it got improved by a minutle lol. I'm still weirdly satisfied with it, and the feeling of getting your first published run on the site is a feeling I'll never forget.
Club Penguin: EPF: Herbert's Revenge
My first actual real TAS project. This game means a lot to me, so I did it. It was a ridiculously long and hard project, but thanks to a very nice man called solarplex, it finally was finished, and I'm really really happy about it (despite the reception from YT viewers being ass). I've planned a v2 TAS, but I'm not satisfied with the current improvements found yet.
Pingu: Sekai de 1ban Genki na Penguin
My most famous TAS ever, over 100k+ views on YouTube and 10k views on Nicovideo. It was hilarious to TAS this, and it was even funnier with the memes.
Unfortunately, it was quickly obsoleted, and a whole thread of drama surfaced. I wasn't so happy about it, so I'm not satisfied with this anymore.

Such a stupid game from a stupid show. This one got yet another drama, but even then, it was done and it was dumb. I hate when platformers are 30fps because it makes TASing them very frustrating.

Remembered playing this one as a kid. AI frustration aside, it was really hard, and fun, and hard again. You really GOTTA GO FA- I mean gotta love all those memes. XD

On this site, we make perfect movies, and then we surpass them. Of course, if we can surpass them, they were not perfect in the first place, but who would have known?
When "perfection" is defined as "as fast as possible", it requires some sacrifices. Indeed, this movie sacrifices a lot in the playability of the game. Full of tricks to pass through walls, tricks to avoid mandatory battles, tricks to pass through enemies relatively unharmed, tricks to acquire weapon refills in little time — there is very little in this movie left that resembles normal playing. Even death is used as a viable playing strategy that saves time. All of the tricks are still performed by the means of mere controller input, even though significant portions of the input were calculated by a computer program.
This movie is a considerable improvement of 03:04.40 to the previous movie; this is mainly due to a new technique which tricks the game into calling an 'end of level' object.
Of course, upon watching this movie, one does have to question something... is it Mega Man saving the world? Or Dr. Wily trying to save it from absolute destruction?
WARNING: There are flashing lights during the level select screen and in boss fights which may cause epileptic seizures to those affected.

This is a game unusually suited for a run for a game based on a movie based on a (famous) TV series. While the game follows the movie's plot quite closely, the author manages to make it look almost incomprehensible thanks to sheer speed in glitching through the stages.
This is an improvement of 01:26.53 minute over the previous published run by the same author.

Luigi wins a mansion in a contest and his brother, Mario, goes missing there. It is your goal to search the haunted mansion to figure out where he is. Your weapons to protect you are a flashlight and the Poltergust 3000, a ghost vacuum. Capturing ghosts and collecting keys helps you progress in your quest to find Mario.
The author, solarplex, utilizes out-of-bounds glitches to skip 19 of the 23 Portrait Ghosts and all of the Boos (except King Boo), beating the whole game in around 10 minutes with TAS timing, or 8:28:52 with RTA timing.
This run plays the Hidden Mansion, a mode unlocked after beating the game once that increases the power of the Poltergust and allows skipping some cutscenes, to make the run more entertaining. We do not normally accept runs that start from dirty SRAM; see the rules for more details.

Sonic bounces around surprisingly fast. The lack of Spin Dash makes the strategy a bit different from that of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles runs, since preserving your momentum becomes a lot more important. However, this doesn't prevent the author from achieving crazy velocities even with such a significant limitation. In this run, the game is completed without collecting any emeralds.
This is the eighth run of this game, improving on the previous effort by 00:03.19 (of in-game time), primarily due to higher optimization.

Doc Louis's Punch-Out!! is a standalone title released after the Wii remake of Punch-Out!! as a Platinum reward for Club Nintendo members in North America. Taking place before the events of Punch-Out!!, the game sees Little Mac spar with his coach, Doc Louis, through three progressively difficult matches, which are each cleared by knocking him down once.

Everyone who has at least once attempted to gather a soul from each of the 120 different enemies in Aria of Sorrow, especially during a speedrun, knows the frustration it incurs after a hundredth failed attempt to get the required drop. That just makes this all-souls TAS, played on hard mode, even more impressive.
Contrary to the previous publication, which used no glitch warps (either by death or by getting out-of-bounds using transform souls), this run makes extensive use of them, knocking off 6 minutes and 10.84 seconds of it. However, the previous publication is still worth a watch, as it demonstrates how such a run would look like if no glitch warps were used.
Note: Starting from reset was necessary to use hard mode. However, doing so is normally not allowed — refer to the rules to see the reasons.

Ridiculously impressive amounts of RNG manipulation and lotsa new glitches... but no Julius noises.

Based loosely on the plot of the movie of the same name, this game is about a man named Stanley Ipkiss, who finds a powerful mask known as The Mask. However, the evil Dorian Tyrell has also become aware of this and kidnaps his girlfriend in order to obtain it.
One of the traits The Mask seems to give Stanley is extreme speed, so naturally, aside from a couple of boss fights, the gameplay is extremely fast throughout the movie. The Mask also has a variety of special powers, most of which are seen in this run. These powers cost M points to use, which have to be managed carefully over the stage.
BrunoVisnadi improves the previous run by 18.62 seconds, thanks to new glitches and better optimisation. Read the author's comments for more information on the new glitches.

In another delightfully colorful Kirby game, Kirby is out taking a walk when a dark copy of Meta Knight appears, slices him into four different Kirbys (each having only a limited ability to inhale), breaks the mirror leading to the Mirror World, and scatters the eight pieces far and wide. To save the real Meta Knight and free Dream Land from great evil, the four Kirbys set out to traverse the maze and collect the pieces.
In this run, mugg utilizes a variety of different enemy abilities to help speed things along and improves his previous run by 02:45.15 minutes.

In the year 2029, evil Emperor Garuda somehow establishes a dictatorial government in the United States. After many lives are lost, two ninjas attempt to overthrow him.
Shadow of the Ninja is one of the rare games in which constantly jumping and slashing is faster than regular running. The author makes sure to use this move extensively both to travel and to deal damage to enemies, and so it may seem that the ninja has a severe case of ADHD.
This game was released in Europe as Blue Shadow and in Japan as Kage.

Rome has conquered Gaul and put a wall around the last village of resistance. Asterix and Obelix decide to tour the Roman Empire and collect souvenirs in order to show Caesar the futility of walls. It's hard to get the story from this TAS, however, because they fly through the levels so quickly, absorbing damage and rarely bothering to fight back. Though, they do take some breaks to participate in local sports. After all, if you're trying to send a message to Caesar, why not beat his athletes in one Olympic event—or all of them?

Kirby's Adventure is a colorful game that's very long for a NES game. Normal gameplay forbids the UFO from being taken from level to level, but using a bug discovered by kirbymuncher, TASeditor manages to keep the UFO, and blazes through much of the game using it. The speed with which he defeats midbosses and bosses is often very surprising.
This TAS of Kirby's Adventure is an improvement of 02:19.65 over JXQ's run.
To see the game completed even faster, see this run, which uses an unusual glitch involving the Stone ability and water to activate the credits early.

Mario Kart 64 is the first 3D game in the Mario Kart series, released in 1996 by Nintendo. Widely regarded as classic, it still retains a following to this day.
A run 7 years in the making, this Mario Kart 64 TAS features weatherton completing all 4 Grand Prix Cups in under 21 minutes. Due to the nature of the game,
knowledge of the internal code allows for heavy RNG manipulation, getting even the most unlikely items on the first try. This and the incredible movement precision are used to create crazy shortcuts, often completing laps in mere seconds.
The submission text contains highly detailed information about the strategies of every track, the RNG manipulation and a lot of other information about the run.

Mega Man Legends is the first of the Mega Man series to take place in fully explorable 3D and is paced more like an RPG than the previous stage-to-stage action games.

Battletoads (1991) is a futuristic beat 'em up known for its graphics and extreme difficulty. The story is that the sexy Dark Queen who wants to rule the universe has kidnapped Princess Angelica and a toad named Pimple. Two other toads, Rash and Zitz, attempt to rescue them and defeat the Dark Queen.
Maybe you thought Battletoads was a game full of amphibians, but it is actually full of bugs. Those beta testers really should have spent a little more time on this game...
In this run, feos and MESHUGGAH beat the previously fastest TAS of this game by 02:21.93, this time using 2 players instead of 1. You will laugh, you will cry, but most of all, you will wonder how in the world they broke this game so much. Do yourself a favor and read the authors' notes.

What could pawsibly go wrong?
Bubsy 3D is the fourth game in the Bubsy series, and was its last one for 21 years, until the franchise was revived with a fifth game. Released in 1996, it was one of the first 3D platform games out there, though its poor controls, terrible graphics, and annoying main character lead the game to being considered one of the worst of all time.
Solarplex claws his way through the game in just under 23 minutes, almost making it look fun and playable in the process.

The Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout, known in Japan as Happy Birthday Bugs and in Europe as The Bugs Bunny Blowout, is a Kemco video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is a sequel to The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle, which was released the previous year. As the beginning of the game tells you, Bugs Bunny is trying to get to his 50th birthday party, and he needs to get past the numerous obstacles and enemies in his way.
Several factors make this game quite difficult. For instance, after taking damage, Bugs cannot swing his hammer until the damage blinking stops. When an enemy is hit with the hammer but doesn't die, he is pushed back a little. These factors make it tricky to coordinate multiple hits on a boss in a row. Also, some of the later stages are quite mazelike with their network of warp entrances (similar to warp pipes in Super Mario Bros). In addition, a TASer needs to manage heavy lag and avoid collecting too many bonus carrots (so that fewer time-wasting bonus games are played after the stages).
fcxiaopengyou improves the previous run by 34.24 seconds, thanks to better optimisation, better lag management and a slightly different route.

Arguably better known these days for the WarioWare series, our anti-hero Wario started off as the villain in Super Mario Land 2 before starring in his own series of platformers of which this is the fifth (everyone forgets Virtual Boy Wario Land).
Through strategic use of save-and-restore and a glitch allowing rapid diagonal movement and zipping, Wario gets away with all the loot in this Hard mode run (the hardest difficulty available from the outset) 22:30.68 faster than before.

Yume Nikki (ゆめにっき, lit. Dream Diary) is a surrealistic adventure game by indie Japanese developer Kikiyama. The game was created using RPG Maker 2003, but has few role-playing game (RPG) elements. Players explore the dreams of a hikikomori character named Madotsuki (窓付き, lit. windowed). The initial version of the game was released on June 26, 2004, with subsequent updates over time, the last occurring in 2007.
This run by poco_cpp extensively utilizes a glitch involving a desk chair to allow Madotsuki to move at 8 times her normal speed, allowing the 24 effects to be collected in record time.
There is also an alternate YouTube stream featuring Japanese commentary by the author.

In this TAS of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the author aims to beat the game as quickly as possible while completing all dungeons, temples, and Ganon Trials. This goal is commonly referred to as "all temples", "all dungeons", or "MST (Medallions/Stones/Trials)".
This run has 22:15.68 minutes of improvements in gameplay over the previous TAS of its kind.
This movie contains a newer route and newer strategies which allow for a much faster completion than were possible when the last run was made. Several large glitches in the game are not used in the run, such as the Reverse Bottle Adventure or the Get Item Manipulation glitch. These are avoided because it would make the completion of any dungeon completely arbitrary; they can be seen in an old any% run.
This TAS is played on the Japanese version of the game. The reason for this is that the text is significantly faster than in the English version, which means that far less time (roughly 12 minutes) is spent waiting for text boxes and cut scenes to end before getting back to the action.
The author's notes explain in great detail many of the things done in this TAS which may be confusing to those who aren't familiar with Ocarina of Time speedrunning. Reading them is strongly advised.

In this special episode of Looney Tunes, Bugs, Daffy, Tweety, Porky, Taz, Speedy Gonzales, and the Road Runner decide to rip off popular games such as Atomic Runner, Sonic the Hedgehog & Gradius. They do this by going through this Sunsoft classic as fast as possible so that they don't die from all of the ripoffs.
This has led to even stranger results than the other run, clearing five and a half minutes thanks to a glitch that allows for skipping several levels.

After having eaten very heavily just before going to bed, Garfield finds himself trapped in a nightmare from which he must escape and where he lives through all of his nine "lives". Amusingly, this is unrelated to a similarly-titled story collection.
The game is a sidescrolling platformer, which is divided into 9 levels. Each level represents one of Garfield's lives (though this implies Garfield has lived an entire life in the sewer and another in a tree...). To complete the level, Garfield must fulfill a goal which is given at the beginning, like finding 10 eggs or getting the key to a door. After three levels, there is always a boss fight. Apart from jumping, Garfield can kick to get rid of his foes and he can perform a ramming attack and an elbow blow.

In this game featuring the famous SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob stumbles upon a legendary statue that opens the way to the Dutchman’s Underworld. SpongeBob must unlock the statue and defeat the Flying Dutchman to get the Golden Spatula and become the Master Fry Cook.

Super Mario World 64 is a pirated port of the SNES Super Mario World, made for the Sega Mega Drive by an unknown developer, at an unknown date (but most likely after the original release of Super Mario 64 in 1996).
In the game you play as Mario alone; Yoshi makes no appearance whatsoever. Holding A allows you to run, but the distance required before Mario starts running is longer than expected, making careful jumps that require the distance a bit tricky. Control in general is also very stiff.
